70th Anniversary of the Battle of Monte Cassino in Józefów

On May 7, 2014, a concert of the Ryki Children’s Choir commemorating the 70th Anniversary of the Battle of Monte Cassino took place in the MOK auditorium in Józefów. At our invitation, young people from schools in Józefów and the “Jędruś” Center sat in the audience. The event was accompanied by an exhibition of original souvenirs of the soldiers of the 2nd Polish Corps. We are full of admiration that the children performing in the choir and the team management put so much work and inventiveness into their clothes stylized as junaks of the 2nd Polish Corps. (earlier the representatives of the band were in our Museum, they watched the equipment of soldiers, we advised where to buy the appropriate military demobil, because at the cost of sewing replicas of uniforms for 30 people, the choir simply could not stand, “helmets were made by children of paper”) The choir sang beautifully Polish military songs. Amazed young people gathered in the auditorium, standing listening to “Red Poppies on Monte Cassino” standing up.
